The first vines,
planted in 2016.
In 2012, Ilse Swennen and Dominique Dedecker bought a house with fallow land in Bree. Four years later, the first vines were planted. On the Steenberg slope, their idea took root.
Today they work with winemaker Maxim Geunis and Peter Paumen, who cares for the vineyard. Different crafts, connected by the same place.

The height difference is about 30 metres. Our vines are on the eastern flank, where the sun falls first in the morning.

At Breekiezel in Oudsbergen, the winery is taking shape. The 2025 harvest was the first processed here. The next step in the De Steinberg story.
In the wine cellar

There are wooden barrels in the wine cellar. Each wine has its own character, from fresh bubbles to red wine with a spicy wood touch.
